As he moved, the lion's senses were on high alert, in harmony to the subtle variations of the environment. The rustle of the grass, the distant call of a bird, the faint scent of an antelope. He paused occasionally, his gaze fixed on us, perhaps a potential meal? Color photograph taken by me in South Africa 2019, hand illustrated with paint and India ink.

About my mixed media photographs.
I enjoy hand illustrating my photographs layering on strokes of paint, or India Ink creating unusual composition, a sprinkle of meditative thoughts. Each creation becomes a spirited exploration. A quest and reminder life and art is messy. Ansel Adams once said “The negative is the equivalent of the composer's score, and the print the performance.” I’m no longer aspiring once the ink hits the paper.
